Mantrailing

Mantrailing

My husband Lutz and I, Ute, have been practicing Mantrailing since early 2011. At that time we looked for a meaningful work for our Cullinan beside the dummy work. This search ended in the meanwhile great passion for mantrailing.
My husband handles our Yuma since 2015 and I handle our Cullinan since 2011 and our Eloy since 2018. Jari is in training starting 10-week old in 2021
For alomost 4 years (2016 to 2020), we have been handling Cullinan and Yuma, both police certified, for the State Office for police services (LZPD) on behalf of the Ministry of the Interior of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW).

What is Mantrailing

During mantrailing the dog follows the individual scent of a certain person. You make use of the dog's highly sensitive nose and natural hunting instinct. Yes, hunting instinct, but more on that later. The nice thing about mantrailing is that you can practice it actually everywhere, because the dog is always on a leash. Mantrailing is also a dog activity, which is feasible until the high dog age, because it is the dog that sets the pace.
